11% → 50%Global water-reuse goal by 2045

The challenge
A coalition of more than 100 utilities, industries, engineering companies, equipment suppliers, and major water organizations came together through the Scaling Water Reuse Initiative to accelerate global adoption of water reuse.
The approach
GP Water led the initiative’s Technology Innovators working group: cataloguing the current state of the art, assessing breakthrough technologies, and cultivating innovation toward the initiative’s reuse goal.
The result
A roadmap, prepared for presentation to the United Nations, for increasing global water reuse from 11% to 50% of water consumed by 2045.
Status: GP Water engagement. The 50% figure is the initiative’s goal, not a result achieved. The chart shows Global Water Intelligence’s estimates.
